What happened to Real Hip-Hop music

I'm up pretty late, listening to new music on the Internet. I'm trying to get into a lot of new artists but it is really hard to. Corporate America is taking away most of the originality in Hip-Hop. I understand that sex, drugs and rock and roll sells, but come on. Project Pat just came out with a song called, "Good Googly Moogly." Please do not feed into these gimmicks, who call themselves rappers. There is nothing wrong with club music or crunk music but do not try to pass it as lyrical.

I had to go back to some 90s 2pac to realize what we are missing. The man was talking about real problems and real life. Don't get me wrong, there are some real rappers who talk about real shit. Kanye West does a good job of this. Lupe Fiasco also does his thing. Let's get real people. Stop the bullshit. Get smart

In Memory Of: Douglas Yancey Funnie

Anyone who was born in the late 80s or early 90s would have met a young, charming sixth grade by the name of Doug Funnie. Doug had a certain something about him that brought us all close to him. He was a selfless, fun-loving kid, who loved to write in his journal and to listen to his favorite band, The Beets. There will never be another Doug. He was always there for you, right when you got home from school. Whether you knew him as Quailman, Smash Adams, or just simply Doug, you will always remember the legacy of a special boy.
Family left behind: Parents, Phil and Theda Funnie and Sister, Judy Funnie
A few friends he left behind: Pork Chop, Skeeter, Patti Mayonnaise, Mr. and Mrs. Dink, Roger Klutz, and Beebe Bluff
People are only gone, when you forget about them.

Bow Wow Spits in Chris Brown's Face!

Yesterday in Dallas, Texas, Rapper Bow Wow got a little out of control at his concert. Bow Wow came of stage and claimed that there was trouble with the sound check. He automatically thought that Chris (Light-skinned Brotha) Brown was trying to sabotage Bow Wow's show. So, when Bow Wow left the stage and went back stage, he started flipping out. Chris Brown came out of his dressing room and trying to calm the five foot rapper down. Bow Wow reportedly spit in Chis Brown's face. Chris did not retaliate and he walked away from the situation.

I give Chis Brown a lot of respect for being the bigger man but I would of busted Bow Wow's little ass.

Movie: Juno

Tonight, I went to see the movie "Juno". I actually never heard of the movie, but a friend recommended it. It wasn't a movie that I would normally see, but it was a surprisingly good film. The sarcasm is what made the movie enjoyable. Most of the audience did not get the humor. Definitely a must see for 2008.

Kind of like "Napoleon Dynamite" meets "My Girl"

First Blog Comment... Lupe Fiasco's The Cool

I have been fortunate enough to have found out about Lupe Fiasco's sophomore release, The Cool. The album is straight dope from top to bottom. I've been all about this album for the past month. I actually thought Kanye West's album Graduation was the best album of 2007, but I was mistaken.

Lupe is bringing rap music back to life.
