Classic Album: Capital Punishment

Ladies and Gentleman, I have been exploring new artists for the past few months. I have been waiting for the next rapper to resurrect rap music. I took a break from that about a week ago. I went into my room and pulled out all my old CD's from the 90s. I haven't listened to them for years and they were kind of dusty. I had a few flashbacks looking at the albums. I found a classic CD that I thought I lost. It was Big Pun's CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. It had been a while since I listened to the CD so I popped it in to my computer. WOW. The album is bananas. It was hot when I was a kid but now I understand a lot more of the lines. It blew my mind. People please go back and listen to Big Pun. You will not be disappointed.

Alltel Wireless? Kinda Sketchy

People, there are some strange things going on. I can't lie, I'm a TV kid. I enjoy watching television and I like to catch some shows before I go to bed each night. I also enjoy a good commercial here and there and I plan to start a career in advertising after college. But there is one company that stands out to me. Alltel Wireless. This company must spend more money on advertising than any other phone service. They have these semi-clever commercials and some decent looking phones. There's only one problem. I NEVER seen ANYONE with a damn Alltel Wireless phone. Please correct me if I'm wrong people. You have never heard somebody say, "Damn no service, Alltel is killing me." Never. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but i feel that Alltel Wireless is up to something. Keep your guard up people.

Naps is looking out for y'all

New Artists for 2009!

What's going on y'all? Its been a minute since I've written a blog. But I'm back and I'm here to hook everyone up with some new artists that have had a hold of my attention for the past few months. I figured since its a new year, your I pod should be filled with some forward moving Hip-Hop.

The first artist is a Harlem native by the name of Charles Hamilton. A lot of people like to compare him to Kayne West but I disagree. This kid is an original talent. If I had to compare him to someone, I would have to say something like Q-tip mixed with Pharrell Williams. Or maybe Lupe Fiasco. However it may be, Charles Hamilton is the future of Hip-Hop music. The reason why I feel so strongly about this kid is because of his passion for music. He understands that Hip-Hop has become boring and wants to wake it up. Check out his single, "Brooklyn Girls" and believe me, 2009 belongs to Charles Hamilton.

The next artist that I'm going to share with y'all is Kid Cudi out of Cleveland, Ohio. Kid Cudi is Kanye West's new artist on the G.O.O.D. music label. Cudi's music is a double-edged sword with his rhyme skills and his ability to sing. I think he can be compared to Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, except with a little more B-boy style. Kid Cudi raps with a "not give a fuck" attitude and he isn't afraid to try new things. Check the kid out. His single is "Day N Night". Also check out his mixtape entitled,"A Kid Named Cudi."
